Pilgrim Shell Obsession

After ruining my first finished shell drawing with an old fixative, I do not give up. This pilgrim shell – Latin name: Pecten maximus – is too interesting! Other common names: escallop, king scallop. It is associated with Saint James (Saint Jacob), and the Camino de Santiago. The third image shows a detail of the final drawing. I used graphite and coloured pencils.
