Wire Figure Art Workshop

The division between the fine arts and the crafts are losening up or even disappear. Textile and fibre artists are now widely exhibited in established fine art galleries. WAFTA, The Western Australian Fibre and Textile Association hosted a workshop run by renowed artist Katrina Virgona. We used different kinds of wire (including chicken wire) and fabric scraps to make figures and baskets.

I planned to make a giant wire animal but ran out of steam and settled for an earring.
