Austrian-Australian artist Guundie Kuchling has been exhibiting internationally since 1985.
Her arts practice includes lino prints, drawings, sculptures and oil paintings.
Her themes are visual dialogue with the environment; the mythic bond between humans, animals and nature; the almost abandoned cultural space of handwriting, and repetition according to the modular principles of serial art. Guundie also creates picture books for all ages and works as field assistant for her biologist husband Gerald who originally established the rescue programme for the critically endangered Western Swamp Tortoise. The Kuchlings live with a backyard populated by native plants and animals and an indoor pool with fish and turtles.
